A fun, family-friendly 5K Trail run complete with color. Proceeds benefit the United Way of Coastal Carolina.
Enjoy a 5K trail run / walk in Craven County's Latham-Whitehurst Nature Park just minutes off of Hwy 55 on Broad Creek Road in New Bern. And get prepared for a colorful trail day - powdered color will be thrown on you at each mile marker! The park has a wonderful boardwalk and fishing pier on Upper Broad Creek. There is also a great kayak launch. Start time 9:00am.
The trail at Latham-Whitehurst Park has flat paths with smooth terrain making them a good cross-over for road runners and walkers to experience trail surfaces. This is a great community event will be fun for the whole family! The kids can enjoy the 1/10 Mile Kids Fun Run, complete with color as well! All 5K participants will receive a t-shirt if registered by JUNE 15 or other great race swag, and kids will get a special treat too. The race is chip timed. Awards will be given for first place overall, first place male and first place female. Other overall and age group winners will receive certificates.
